An Adoption Story
I adopted two of my children when they were small babies. My son came to us directly from the hospital; my daughter was in a loving foster care home for 2 1/2 months while the legal stuff was taken care of by the attorney. They are adults now with families of their own, and the individual adoption story for Matt and Allie are sweet, tender memories and well-loved tales we share from time to time. I do not ever refer to my children as adopted except in the case of sharing an adoption story like this. They are the children of my heart whom I wanted more than anything!
But not all foster stories are positive, and not all children have happy endings.
I stumbled upon this story about how a Marine adopted her two brothers last week. The video shows perseverance, encouragement, and loving support. Maybe I’m sensitive to adoption stories since I’m a mother of adopted children, but tears were falling all over my keyboard as I watched through to the end.
