This video was produced by a team of Deaf campers & staff from Deaf Film Camp 2015 at Camp Mark Seven and is a great example of a community of people making a temporary “home” at a summer camp to love and serve each other.

Matthew 20:28

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many

Watch how the leaders interact and are so gentle with the kids. Make sure you get to the 2:27 mark – It just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy to see kids that are scared or hurt or even angry come out of their shells and begin to blossom.

Some people have the gift of service and are in a profession where they can dedicate their lives to serving others.

What a blessing it is for kids to have a place to go where they can be free to grow and experience life in such a nurturing environment. This brought back so many fond memories of summer camp when I was a kid.

Below are the lyrics to the song they are signing:

“Home” by Phillip Phillips

Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Settle down, it’ll all be clear
Don’t pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

How will you serve?
