Day 188

Jonah

Oh, Jonah . . . if you had just listened to the Lord, you wouldn’t have had to live in the belly of a great fish for three days! I love his prayer (it reminds me a little bit of some of Psalm 40), and I admire the way Jonah owned up to his sin of disobedience. God used this man to help a whole city escape his wrath, but Jonah . . . well, you better read it for yourself. My takeaway is God is gracious with us all, even when we don’t deserve it. We could have a great roundtable discussion on these four short chapters, couldn’t we?
