Bible in a Year, Day 44

Bible in a Year

Welcome to the Joyful Times Today chronological study of the Bible in a year, complete with inspirational graphics. We’re so glad you’re joining us!

Day 44

Leviticus 1-4

We’ve finished three books of the Old Testament now and today we start Leviticus which is the third book of the Law of Moses. The theme, according to Paul Kent, author of Know Your Bible, is A Holy God explains how to worship Him. I like that a lot.

Leviticus is filled with ceremonial laws, calling for obedience to God. While we are not living under that law now, understanding our past makes our present day and future walk with the Lord even richer. You’ll also understand references when we get to our New Testament readings much later in our study of God’s Word. So sit back, picture yourself back thousands of years, and listen to what God wanted His people to do. Last, try to grasp that the sacrifices you will read about will point to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
