The most beautiful thing for me at weddings is when the newlyweds take to the floor and begin to dance.
When they dance, I can see their love, that pure love we all sometimes dream about. Wrapped in each other’s arms, dancing, laughing, and most of all, totally unaware of all the eyes that are set on them. Just them two alone in that moment, a moment that seems to last a lifetime.
Now imagine this dance in the arms of the One who loves you the most, Jesus. He came to lay down His life so that He can get to dance with His bride in this ever so loving manner. We all know that when we laid down our lives we chose to be His. We, in that second, became His precious bride. You became His dance partner.
For your Maker is your husband—
the Lord Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;
he is called the God of all the earth.
He desires to have this dance with you; He wants to open the floor with you in His arms every single day. He wants to guide you in the most beautiful way imaginable for our human minds. He wants you to know, His true love, that He desires this partnership with you. We must also remember that in the wedding dance it means the bride gives her Husband the power to lead her, she follows in His steps. She never follows her own path without Him in mind. This results in unity, beautiful unity of love.
Then young women will dance and be glad,
young men and old as well.
I will turn their mourning into gladness;
I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
Dancing is also a fun-filled activity; it is full of laughter and joy. This reminds us that we should enjoy this dance with our Husband, we should stop worrying about where life leads us and finally we should trust the One Who is taking lead, He knows best.
praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
