From the dawn of time, people have had choices to make.
Adam and Eve did not set the best example of obedience in the garden and it cost everything. The good news is, we can choose differently and have Jesus to guide us!
Life comes with many decisions that may seem mundane or inconsequential but in time can cause heartache. God can teach us through a variety of circumstances in the smaller things to prepare us for bigger decisions; He teaches in parables so that we can more easily understand.
This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
Car shopping, at first, may not seem like a logical comparison to courtship or dating, but surprisingly, the way we go about choosing what vehicle we want to own can point to similar patterns in dating.
For example, impulsive car buyers are often hasty in other areas of their lives. They may be easily caught up in the moment and let their emotions drive behaviors instead of evaluating the long-term consequences of their choices.
The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.
On the other hand, a person that is careful in considering all the options, weighs the pros and cons and makes a logical decision in purchasing a car will probably find their dating life to be more successful as well. The safe, responsible approach to finding a reliable automobile can be a great gauge for how that person might pursue compatibility in a dating relationship.
Before you make an unhealthy or rash decisions when it comes to dating, let Jesus reveal the tendencies in other areas that will help you navigate courting God’s way.
It is much less painful to choose the wrong car to buy than to choose the wrong person to date…or marry.
Love Quote: “Jesus, Forever is a long time; please help me choose!”
