Jeremy Camp was born in Lafayette, Indiana. His father Tom, the pastor at Harvest Chapel (associated with Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, CA), taught him how to play guitar. After completing high school, Camp attended an Assemblies of God college in Southern California for two years and later earned an associate of theology degree from Calvary Chapel Bible College. After one of the worship leaders heard him play in the kitchen of the school he urged Camp to become a part of the worship team. Soon he led worship and played all over Southern California.

Camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp (born October 7, 1979), were married on October 21, 2000. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and died on February 5, 2001, when he was 23 and she was 21. Some of his early songs reflect the emotional ordeal of her illness. “I Still Believe” was the first song he wrote after her death. “Walk By Faith” was written during their honeymoon.

On December 15 2003, he married Adrienne Liesching, former frontwoman for The Benjamin Gate. They have two daughters and one son: Isabella “Bella” Rose Camp (born September 25, 2004), Arianne “Arie” Mae Camp (born April 5, 2006), and Egan Thomas Camp (born August 17, 2011). In 2009 the couple announced that they were expecting a child, but the pregnancy ended due to a miscarriage after three months. Camp is also an ordained minister.

Camp has scored 32 No. 1 hits on Christian Radio across all formats (Contemporary Hit Radio, Hot AC, Rock, and Inspirational Charts). His album, Beyond Measure, contributed six back-to-back No. 1 hits, including the track “Let It Fade” which held the No 1. spot for 10 weeks on AC Radio. Camp has spent 175 weeks total at No. 1 across various formats in his career to date. His first single was “Understand”. He has made ten music videos: “Understand”, “Walk By Faith”, “Take You Back”, “Tonight”, “Give You Glory”, “Let It Fade”, “I Am Willing” (a song that was not included on any of his albums), “Speaking Louder Than Before”, “The Way”, and “Reckless”. He also has video devotionals for several songs on YouTube and GodTube. He has also released a DVD, In24, which chronicles a regular day on-tour, and often keeps his fans updated on his touring with Tour Blogs through his YouTube channel. Live Unplugged from Franklin, TN also includes a DVD of the concert, which was recorded for the live album. He also has scored a musical number, “This Man”, and his video can be seen on YouTube. This video was made with clips from the film The Passion of the Christ.

Lyrics

“There Will Be A Day”
by Jeremy Camp

I try to hold on to this world
With everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings,
And the hurt that tries to grab
The many trials that seem to never end,
His word declares this truth,
That we will enter in this rest
With wonders anew
But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering[Chorus:]
There will be a day with no more tears,
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
But until that day,
We’ll hold on to you always

I know the journey seems so long
You feel you’re walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you’ve walked out all alone

Troubled soul don’t lose your heart
Cause joy and peace he brings
And the beauty that’s in store
Outweighs the hurt of life’s sting

But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering

[Chorus]

I can’t wait until that day
Where the very one I’ve lived for always
Will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced

To touch the scars that rescued me
From a life of shame and misery
Oh, this is why, this is why I sing…

[Chorus:]
There will be a day with no more tears,
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
There will be a day with no more tears,
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face

There will be a day
He will wipe away the tears [3x]
There will be a day

The Christian Music Challenge 2.0 Devotional is our 30-day series of short video devotionals to encourage you to understand God’s purpose for Christian music and to incorporate it in your daily life.
Christian Music Challenge
This devotional is based on Al Menconi’s book, The Christian Music Challenge, which in turn was inspired by the biblical principle found in Isaiah 26:3 that reminds us to keep our mind focused on Christ and biblical principles, causing us to experience the peace of God. This is NOT salvation but simply a means to help us grow in our faith.
We developed the wristband as a reminder to continually focus on transforming your mind while you are going through the devotional.
We developed the tee shirt to encourage all participants to engage the public. It will get people wondering until they read the Scripture reference under “washed.” Romans 12:2 commands, “…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
That’s what the Christian Music Challenge will help you do. Brain Wash, Wash Brain = Clean Brain. We are all about renewing our minds, which is helping us to become transformed to the likeness of Christ.
We strongly encourage all parents and teachers to read the Christian Music Challenge book. This will help you understand the pressure your children are experiencing daily and enable you to communicate values to your children.
