Delivering Words Of Love From The King

Imagine being invited to the most elegant palace fit for a King.

You are escorted into the dining room where the finest crystal and place settings are perfectly arranged where each guest will soon be seated. Enormous candelabras shine as the candles they hold cast a beautiful glow around the room. A string quartet plays softly in the corner to set the mood.

You are seated next to the King and anxiously wait for Him to speak.

A man appears dressed in a black tuxedo and wearing white gloves holding a beautiful silver platter. The King nods for him to serve you first. The man lifts the silver dome off the platter to reveal something you were not expecting: a scroll.

Hesitantly, you pull the purple ribbon free and unroll the parchment. Tears flow from your eyes as you read the words meant only for you:

“You are beautiful in My Eyes and beyond precious to Me”

“ I have adopted you into My Family and I call you My own”

“I can never love you any more or any less and nothing you can do will ever separate us.”

“I will be with you forever, I will never leave you or forsake you.”

“I love you so much that I have made a place for you to spend with Me for all eternity.”

Jesus is our King. He speaks these words of love to us over and over. He serves us with words of love so we understand how our words can impact others. He teaches us which words of affirmation to use to edify, encourage, support, and love others.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is a great example of another King who modeled the words of Jesus. When he spoke, people heard words of love that inspired them with the truth. His delivery was both sweet and savory but satisfying to those who came to hear him speak. His words have been quoted around the world as a message of hope.

His example was one to take note of as a model of sharing the love of Jesus. I have a choice each time I open my mouth: I can deliver sweet words of love to nourish others or unappetizing words that are foul and disgusting. When I open my mouth, I picture a beautiful silver platter that extends with nothing but the sweet words of from the King that nourish others and make them want more. It’s a simple order – but one that has taken years of preparation.

Learning to speak the words from the King is a lifelong journey. Be encouraged by the verses below and take the quiz to see if Words of Affirmation is your language of love.
