Evening Prayer ~ Waiting

Prayer helps us wait

When we have sufficiently waited on the Lord, He gets full control of our spirit. At such moments, we’re like a glove, and His hand is moving us wherever He pleases.1

I’m not a fan of waiting, but then, I’ve never met someone who says they are. But you know what? Every time . . .  every single time . . . that I wait on the Lord, the end result is a beautiful, creative result of harmony and peace. So I will wait for the Lord to move my gloves for His purpose.

evening prayer

Psalm 37:3-7

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
    over the man who carries out evil devices!2
