Evening Prayer ~ March 21

Prayer is seeking God

In the discipline of seeking God and observing His fingerprints in our lives, our hearts grow deeper, our souls better understand eternity, and we grow in awe of His personal care and love for us. [1]

When the Psalmist writes “keep me as the apple of your eye,’ the amplified Bible explains it as God keeping us in His affectionate care, protecting us. I am so touched by the verse, there is such a beautiful intimacy involved with God covering me with His wings, holding me so close. He never leaves my side. I can walk away from Him in disobedience, but He is always there waiting for me to return.

Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. [2]

Psalm 17:8
