Prayer is leaning on God
God walks beside each one of us, offering encouragement and giving us the strength we need to fulfill our potential.1
Sharing with a friend who was struggling, I mentioned the Christian Worldview will always be mocked by the world. We have a higher standard to live by, Someone we answer to, and His Word to follow. While we have the freedom to deviate from it, our hearts aren’t filled with peace when we walk outside the boundaries the Lord has set to keep us safe. I shared with her that God’s potential for each of us is unique, and we may select a vocation that He stops from happening because it would create problems for us. His divine purpose for us may not look at all like we had imagined, but it will be better and fill our souls with joy. I warned her that the world isn’t happy about the fact we follow Jesus. They will try hard to get our eyes off of Him and onto the sparkles of the earth’s enticements. But when we lean on Him, I encouraged, we have a Master Guide until the very end.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.2
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.3
