Prayer is asking for help.
The basis of wisdom is to realize you don’t know it all, but you do know the One who does.1
When I feel helpless, clueless, and bewildered, the only thing I know to do is pass go and run to the Lord for His wisdom. Sometimes He sends it through a devotional, sometimes an assurance in my soul that the Holy Spirit highlights, but most of the time it’s His Word; I can always count on gaining the most wisdom when I dive into the scriptures. A fan of BibleGateway, I often will use it as a search engine for a particular issue I’m having. For example, if I need hope, I write hope in the search box, and up spring countless verses. No matter what it is I need, I can count on finding wisdom in my much used Bible.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!2
