Prayer opens our hearts
Prayer opens the heart to God, and it is the means by which the soul, though empty, is filled by God.
Our evening prayer reminds us to open our hearts to God with everything.
When I pray in the evenings, I often come to God weary, exhausted, and mentally worn out. My day is nearly over, and so many issues jumped into my cart, needing attention. But when I begin talking to Him, I find that sweet, familiar intimacy I long for, because I know without a doubt He hears every single word of mine.
O Lord, I call upon you; hasten to me!
Give ear to my voice when I call to you!
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
While I have an open door of conversation all day long with the Lord, I still like to spend purposeful time with Him in the evenings before sleep. I look forward to it but don’t think I have ever said amen because I always fall asleep before I’m finished. He must be smiling because He knows me so well.
Of all things, guard against neglecting God in the secret place of prayer.

We are an Ad-supported ministry, so we rely on our Community members to show us support by clicking on the ads to check out what our advertisers have to offer. We have worked hard to find advertisers that fit with our values and principles, so we know they’ll appreciate you taking a look and it sure helps us keep the website growing. We also have a “donate” button at the top left-hand button if you’d like to help us that way.
Please take the time to encourage our Writer’s by commenting on their articles. We work with independent writer’s who are working hard to write socially redeeming and joyful articles, so if they’ve written something you’ve enjoyed we’d sure appreciate you giving them a few words of praise in the comment section.
Please check out our latest Articles; we really depend on our Community members to get the word out, so please like, comment and share the articles with your friends through the buttons at the bottom of the post.
