God’s amazing universe humbles me.
The Bible is filled with many mentions of the stars, moon, sun and universe. The sky is one of the most magnificent displays of the work of God. One of my favorite verses gives such a beautiful example of the awe inspired by God’s Universe:
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
When I think about the stars and universe, I immediately think of a sweet song I love called He’s Everything To Me. My youngest daughter and I used to sit outdoors before bedtime, and I’d sing the song (see words below the video) to her. I first heard the song when I was in high school and went to a Young Life meeting. This is one of the most memorable songs of my life because it was during this time I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
Tonight a friend directed me to this video, and I sat in awe watching it unfold. I knew I wanted to share it with our readers!
(Be sure to watch until the very end.)
“He’s Everything To Me” by Ralph Carmichael
I will celebrate Nativity,
For it has a place in history,
Sure, He came to set His people free,
What is that to me?
Til by faith I met Him face to face,
And I felt the wonder of His grace,
Then I knew that He was more
Than just a God who didn’t care,
That lived away out there
Now He walks beside me day by day,
Ever watching o’er me lest I stray,
Helping me to find that narrow way,
He is everything to me.
