Gymnastics – Trust, Teamwork and Perseverance

Watch this video below and see an amazing display of trust, teamwork and perseverance!

James 1:2-4

Trials and Temptations

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Gymnastics is a great metaphor of how God wants us to work together as a body of Christ – to be able to trust one another, work together united as a team and persevere until we are perfected in our faith.

Gymnasts spend hours practicing together with dozens of challenges along the way. It takes time for their routine to be mature and complete, not lacking anything. As a church, we can work together to help one another in our weaknesses with support and flexibility to reach the goal.

As we go out into the world, we want to captivate others with our faith so that all glory goes to Him. We hope that the world sees our church as a body working together as one, not in conflict. Watch how each gymnast has a strength and a role, and the others are supportive. What would happen if one of the gymnasts refused to do her part because she disagreed with the other two?

As a body of believers, we need to show the world that we can do amazing things when we work together and at the same time give God all the glory!
