He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
I have an art piece in my home with Micah 6:8 and I walk by it many times a day. When I first saw it at the local Ross store I was delighted and couldn’t wait to hang it in my dining area. Over time, though, the presence of the words became part of the decor and not the words I wanted to tuck into my heart.
God’s words are so important to me: when I’m sad they lift me up, when I’m anxious they remind me to give my worries to Him, when I’m joyful, they remind me to praise Him and when I see someone in need of love, they remind me to be an encourager.
These words from Micah really do need to get tucked into my heart. I’m not a tattoo type gal (I hate pain), but if I were I might have these written on my wrist. Maybe a bracelet for me. 🙂
This year I’m memorizing 64 verses and this is going to be one of them. I’ve found memory work is easy if I break down the verse like this, with the three core pieces to what God requires of me.
♥ Do justice
♥ Love kindness
♥ Walk humbly
This is the art piece in my home. The version is a little different than the one I selected for this post, but the same concept is there. Seek justice, love mercy, walk humbly.
Let’s do this!
Feel free to print out the graphic so you can memorize God’s word, use them as flash cards, or place them in places you’ll see every day. With 365 days a year, you’ll find knowing God’s word will bring you closer to Him and you’ll love knowing what He has to say to you.
