Resolutions are a waste of time.
For years I made New Year’s resolutions. Topics varied anywhere from health to finances to work to relationships. Without fail, the resolutions I made faded into the background of my life heaped into a pile of unmet expectations.
Several years ago, Jesus put a stop to all that nonsense and instead He gives me my own personal “New Year’s Revelation” as a promise for the coming year. I am sharing these below with the hope that you will be blessed to know they are also true for you. The revelation of who Jesus is, will be more than enough to sustain you if you believe His promises. Jesus wants you to know:
- I promise I have great plans to give you a hope and a future
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
- I promise you can come to Me for rest.
Matthew 11:28-29 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
- I promise to give you My Strength when you are weak
Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
- I promise to supply all that you need from My Glorious Riches
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
- I promise if you listen to me you can live in peace and safety
Proverbs 1:33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.
- I promise that nothing can separate you from My Love!
Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Cling to the Word of God this year and rest in the Presence of your Lord and Savior. He is worthy to be praised and all that He is He wants to give to you!
Let this year be His. Give him all that you have and he will give back abundantly with grace, mercy and a love beyond compare. He came, lived and died for us so that we might know Him more fully. His gifts are never ending, and his promises are true.
