Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.
I love the book of Proverbs for wisdom and instruction, and Proverbs 16 has become a major lifeline for me, one of my favorite verses.
Over the years, I’ve made all kinds of plans and decisions that seemed right to me. Most of them were not approved by the Lord, and I flew by “the seat of my pants,” doing my own thing, hoping that because I loved the Lord, He would bless my ideas.
It doesn’t work that way.
Yes, He loves me deeply and always will. But love doesn’t mean that He puts a stamp of approval on everything I do. The Lord showed me about a decade ago that I need to give everything to Him, every single idea, plan, and thought. And then He will show me what He approves us and wants me to forget. He leads me, through His Spirit, what to change, ignore, and develop.
With His help, I know I am in the right hands, and He will establish the plans that matter to Him.
Proverbs 16:3 has become one of the most important guidelines in my life, and I challenge you to think about adopting it in your life too. You’ll be so glad you did!
