Do you ever wonder which way to go?
Have you ever wondered what decision to make, or you come to a fork in the road?
As I was standing up on a hill on a hot afternoon in the summertime, I began thinking about how a shadow determined my perspective and what I could see, and the same goes for you, too.
If you are standing up and your body is facing the sun, the shadow will fall behind you.
If you are standing up and the sun is behind you, the shadow will be in front of you.
This can also signify something else: What we are allowing to lead us? For example, if we are walking in the light with the sunshine in front of us, we are able to see clearly where we are going, because the darkness is behind us.
However, when we are walking away from the light, the shadow falls in front of it, which means it could be that were walking into darkness apart from clarity, transparency, and peace.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
What are we allowing to lead our lives? Psalm 119 says the Bible lights up the way before you, giving you clarity on your path rather than darkness.
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Just like Jesus spoke to his disciples, he also speaks to you and me through His Word, through the time and intimacy we are spending with him. As life is faced with many decisions, a clear view is sought and found by following God, the Author of your story. His light shines brightest in all directions, and when you are following Him, your way becomes more clear, transparent, and you begin to hear him louder than any other voice in your life.
