The Mystery Of Love

It truly is amazing to look at the way that God created everything!

Sit quietly by a lake and hear the leaves rustle in the breeze. Watch a hummingbird sip the nectar from a flower. God has an unlimited imagination and He designed so many things we cannot fully understand! But the expression of love between a man and a woman is far beyond our understanding.

The Eagle:

We may have figured out a way to put a giant metal plane in the air loaded with people but birds just take off and land with no engineering, manufacturing, assembly or safety features. Birds just fly; God made them that way.

The Snake:

Snakes move by using their muscles and their scales to do the walking for them. They can coil or move in a wave-like motion using the scales on their bellies to grip the ground. Snakes have an ability that we cannot really comprehend on a human level.

The Ship:

Some ships survive a storm when others are crushed and splintered and sink to the bottom of the ocean. It seems unbelievable that boats could survive being tossed around like a toy yet many ships have weathered a storm without any damage whatsoever. For others, one broken mast or one wave too big can seal their fate at the bottom of the sea.

A Man and Young Woman:

How can human beings love on so many different levels? How can we explain the way of love? What are the forces and work that keep two people together for 57 years? Does love change over time? Is love safe? Does love have to be equal to last? How do we know what true love looks like? Do we each have only one true love? How does God guide and direct our love for others?

We may not know the answers to all of these questions but God does. In these verses, the Hebrew word for “way” is “derek” meaning: guide, journey, path, road, course and can also be used in reference to the path God wants us to take in our relationships. Love is not a mystery to Him yet remains a mystery to us. We have such a limited understanding of God’s love for us and how He wants us to love others, which is why we should let Him lead the way.

Following God means we learn to trust His will for our lives. God loves us and wants us to know Him first and foremost. His “WAY” is simple but oh, so hard. By loving Jesus first, we will have a much better view of relationships on this earth and can stay on the right path to experiencing healthy relationships and not be led astray.

Love Quote: Proverbs 30:18-19

“There are three things that are too amazing for me,
four that I do not understand:
the way of an eagle in the sky,
the way of a snake on a rock,
the way of a ship on the high seas,
and the way of a man with a young woman.
