Verse of the Day ~ Psalm 90:14

Verse of the Day ~ April 15

Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14

Mornings have never been my thing unless it was a day of celebration like Christmas, a wedding, or major event.

God wired me to be a night person. My dad was too, but my mom loved her coffee out on the porch when the house was still. The people who jump out of bed and embrace the day baffle me – I’d love to be like that, but then how would my evenings be affected, I wonder. I get so much work done at night. Plus I don’t jump out of bed . . . I sort of shuffle.

A couple of months ago I was listening to Danny Gokey’s song Give Me Jesus and decided to at least change my mornings around a bit, so they weren’t so bland. I began listening to his song while still in bed, prayed my Five Point Prayer, and thanked God for the coffee waiting for me that I set up the night before.

My mornings became sweeter as I lingered in bed, listening, talking, and filling my soul with the aroma of His love. My days start out on such a joyful note, and I look forward to what He has in store for me.
