Verse of the Day ~ December 20, 2015

Luke 11:13

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Luke 11:13

As I think about the many gifts I have given to my children and grandchildren over the years, and how I hope to give them more in the future, it helps me understand how God wants to give me His best:

His own Spirit to guide me.

One of the gifts our Father gives us is the Holy Spirit at the moment we ask Jesus into our lives.

The other gift God gives us  is eternal life when we believe Jesus is the Son of God and accept God’s forgiveness of our sins because of Christ’s death on the cross. We cannot lose our salvation because God does not take back His gifts that He lovingly bestows on us.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of eternal life and the indwelling of your Holy Spirit who leads me, comforts me, and encourages me.
