Verse of the Day ~ November 22, 2015

JTT- TITL VoD11-22-15 inside post

Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches;

feed me with the food that is needful for me.

Proverbs 30:8

The second part of this verse has been such a sweet comfort and a prayer of mine since our economy went sour. As my checking account began looking more like a savings account that I had when I was a teenager, I at first freaked out just a little bit.  Okay, a lot. A whole whole  lot. And then God, in His love and mercy reminded me of my favorite verse, Proverbs 3:5-6, and whispered to my heart that all I needed to do was trust Him with my entire being.

He guided me gently to a place I had never been before: total dependence on Him.

God showed me how to live a different lifestyle than I ever had before. My greatest test is God’s greatest testimony to the power He has in my life.  He showed me how to share better, give away things I did not really need when others did, how to stop over-shopping for things that brought me  temporary  joy.  I found my real joy is in the One Who provides my Daily Bread: God Almighty!

Now I find my joy is lasting and is based solely on my joy in His Word and my relationship with the Lord.

Ask God to show you financial and material areas that you can totally put all of your trust in Him to provide for you. What things do you need? And of those things, what are wants and what are needs?

Be prepared to find out how you can

Do you know the difference?
