But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Our guest writer today is Ben Piershale who loves the Lord deeply and whose videos we love and share here on Joyful Times Today.
When it comes down to it, there are only 3 voices that can speak to you when you’re praying…
1. Yourself, or your own mind.
2. Demonic spirits trying to give you the wrong thoughts.
3. The Holy Spirit (God’s Spirit) who dwells on the inside of you when you know Jesus.
The good news is that you’ve been given control over the first 2. When you pray, command any evil spirits to be silent in Jesus name (Luke 10:19). Next, quiet your mind by going some place alone where you can focus on God and your conversation with Him (Matthew 6:6). Finally, talk to God about whatever you’re dealing with and then quietly listen for His wisdom and answer (Proverbs 2:1-5).
My personal experience is that some of the best decisions in my life were made in this manner. Make spending time with God a habit and you will find it easier and easier to hear His voice. He is interested in every aspect of our lives and wants to be involved if we will only let Him.
Thanks Ben, for your shared wisdom. We couldn’t agree more!
