Verse of the Day
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast
I love the poetic words “anchor of my soul.” It’s a perfect pairing with the word hope, don’t you think?
Without hope, I think my life would feel, well, hopeless. God gives us everything we need: salvation, forgiveness, love, courage, freedom to worship in our hearts, and in many countries, the food we eat, the air we breathe. He gives us new life every time a baby is born, and comfort when a loved one leaves us and enters His presence. He places hope as the anchor that binds all of this together because we place our hope in Him and eternity.
I’m so very grateful that hope spurs me on when I feel like quitting, blankets me in love when I’m feeling insecure, and brings me joy even when life looks gloomy. God loves to give us hope, and all we need to do is say yes Lord, I receive.
