Verse of the Day ~ Psalm 86:11

Verse of the Day

Teach me your way, Lord, so that I can walk in your truth. Make my heart focused only on honoring your name.

Psalm 86:11

Our verse of the day is a new favorite of mine . . . I love coming across a passage in His Word that makes me want to memorize it. I’m especially drawn to verses that refer to paths, roads, and ways that also mention the heart.

For many years, the path has been a visual reminder to follow Jesus, and this one seemed to speak directly to me because the world always tries to distract me from my walk with the Lord. I want so much to honor the Lord and believe if I focus on Him, I will.

The last portion of this verse – Make my heart focused on honoring your name – is especially meaningful to me as I write this update.  I have a long road ahead as I finish my Master’s degree and then it will be time to find a job where I can encourage others face to face. My hope is to be an adjunct instructor at a Christian university and to work part time as a community chaplain. I know as long as I keep focused on honoring the Lord, He will use me in this life and direct my path.
