Verse of the Day
But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.
Our Verse of the day is a favorite of mine because it reminds me what God has done for me in the past. He has been my fortress, my refuge, and my strength. I will sing, even though a little off key, of His love for me! One of my go-to songs while I lay in bed is Give Me Jesus. I especially like this version by Danny Gokey. Having it on my iPhone assures me I may listen to it while still in bed . . . it brings my mind into focus when I remember all I really need is Who I already have.
Even when I’ve had a tough day before, God does something special in my heart after sleeping and a brand new morning brings me hope. Hope in Him and His divine plan for my life.
For over 15 months I’ve had an issue with a closed door that I just don’t understand. It’s created many tears, even though I ultimately trust the Lord above my frustrations. I know this sounds like a pity-party-for-one, but I’ve told God “you’re hurting my feelings over the confusion the closed door is causing me. Please explain something, Lord . . .” And He allows me to be real before Him.
But no matter how much I’ve asked (begged!) He is silent. He’s teaching me something, that’s for sure. In real life, I’d be looking for a crowbar to pry a closed door open; in my walk with the Lord, I give Him the scenario and wait for His leading and keep on trusting.
