Verse of the Day ~ January 7

Philippians 1:3-5

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
Philippians 1:3-5

When I was a teenager I was introduced to Jesus through a high school group called Young Life. I’d always believed in God, but didn’t understand who Jesus was. It took me over a year for it to sink in that He was my Savior, but once I “got it” I have never regretted giving my life to serving Him. From those early days in Young Life, God has called me to serve Him where I am today.  With so much joy I thank God for the leaders who loved me, and led me to Jesus!

The JB Philips was my first Bible and Philippians was my first book to study. It is no wonder I gravitate to it and love the word joy! It’s like an old friend. It was planted in my heart years ago and it calls my name often. Likewise, God has used the word joy in my life over and over again to encourage me through the ups and down of life.

I’ve said it before, but can you say JOY out loud with a frown?  Not really!
