Verse of the Day ~ John 9:3

Verse of the Day

Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.

John 9:3

Our verse of the day tells the story of Jesus and the blind man. Perhaps a story I have read dozens of times over the years, but a few weeks ago it spoke deeply to my soul. Then an echo came today, reminding me of the way God uses things that may seem like negatives to display His work in me. When I fully grasped that God uses the difficulties of my life to show His power in it, I was able to rest in complete peace and trust Him fully.

Read the context with me:

Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind

As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. John 9:1-3

Verse of the Day

And as we continue reading, Jesus gave the man sight. The works of God were displayed in a miracle, news that spread from person to person quickly.

It seems that we all need to look at our lives, at the things that need restoring . . . and watch God step in and display His works so others are drawn to Him.
