Verse of the Day ~ 1 Peter 5:10

Verse of the Day

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
1 Peter 5:10

Our verse of the day has an additional verse I want to add on: To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:11). Today I was reading in one of my devotional books and came across these words by Chuck Swindoll in his Bedside Blessings1 book dated May 27.  I’ll quote him directly, rather than try to paraphrase, and I really encourage you to purchase this favorite book of mine on amazon2 or in the kindle3 version. You’ll adore it.

“When the enemy knocks at the door or when he prowls around back or when he looks for the chick in your armor, you hang on to Christ. You stand firm in the faith. You put on the “armor of God” . . . You have nothing to worry about. Nothing. For, as Peter reminds us, our Lord has “dominion forever and ever.” He is the one ultimately in control, and that is something in which every beleiver can find strength to hope again.”

Today I asked God to show me when it is the enemy and when it is the Holy Spirit moving in my life. Even with suffering, I find it is sometimes used by God to move me from place to place, restoring me, confirming me, strengthening me, and establishing me.

With Jesus on my side, I do not need to have any concern, any worry, any fear, or any doubt. With Jesus, I have complete contentment no matter what happens, and with the Holy Spirit dwelling within my soul, I trust He will move mountains to get me where He wants me.

Graduation has brought new opportunities into my life and new beginnings loom on the horizon of my heart . . . I want to hear the Spirit . . . not myself or the enemy of God who loves to misdirect me. I can count on the fact that God wins because I’ve turned over every bit of my life to Him. So I will wait upon the Lord as He takes care of me as His beloved daughter.
