Verse of the Day
Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
I love how God knows my heart better than anyone. He knows how much I seek Him with all my soul, even when I can’t put my heart thoughts into words. He knows my dependence on Him is strong. And He knows I care about learning from Him, so I don’t make any more gigantic mistakes that get me into predicaments that cause me to fall flat on my face. Or skin my knee as I fall forward. Or go the wrong way . . . again!
The beautiful thing about God knowing all of this is that He loves that I want to follow Him. I sigh with relief in a big way when I start to panic and His Spirit indwelling me calms my down without a word; just a still hush that overcomes my minds overactivity. God wants the best for me, and while I have no idea what that is or what it looks like, I am still able to take one step at at time as I learn His ways.
No sooner than I start off in one direction these days, that He pulls the rope and guides me back on the right path. What a relief it is to know Who has my back and Who wants me to live in the center of His will, not my own. Security for me is knowing to Whom I belong and Who Loves me most.
