Verse of the Day ~ Psalm 56:8

Verse of the Day

You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your book?
Psalm 56:8

Verse of the Day ~ Knowing God puts my tears in His book, knowing He is totally aware of my tough times, and knowing He understands my trials, sorrows, and discouragement helps me so much!

David asked God to collect his tears, putting them all in a bottle which usually would hold liquids. When I think about this, it makes sense: David wants to make sure God doesn’t forget how much he has cried and a bottle filled would be a good reminder.

I think my bottle might have to be one of those five-gallon ones if all my tears were collected over the years. Some of my tears were happy ones, but more were full of sorrow over the death of someone I loved, a beloved pet, or a break in a relationship.  And there were tears of frustration too. God may not keep my tears in a bottle, but they are in His book . . .  But one day there will be no more tears when we are living out our lives in eternity!
