Verse of the Day ~ Colossians 4:6

Verse of the Day

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Colossians 4:6

Our verse of the day is one of the best reminders to keep our speech gracious because it will save relationships.

I was recently hurt by someone I love very much. I wanted so much to share how she hurt me, and as I prayed through my emotions, I saw that in this case, my words would make things worse between us. So I switched gears and gave it to the Lord, asking Him to intervene and help me deal with being hurt. My relationship with this person is more important than making my point and sharing my feelings.  So far God hasn’t given me any insight, but I do feel at peace and know I listened to Him to leave it in His hands. Sometimes having gracious words work better than honest ones that can destroy.

  1. We are an Ad-supported ministry, so we rely on our Community members to show us support by clicking on the ads to check out what our advertisers have to offer.  We have worked hard to find advertisers that fit with our values and principles, so we know they’ll appreciate you taking a look and it sure helps us keep the website growing. We also have a “donate” button at the top left-hand button if you’d like to help us that way.
  2. Please take the time to encourage our Writer’s by commenting on their articles.  We work with independent writer’s who are working hard to write socially redeeming and joyful articles, so if they’ve written something you’ve enjoyed we’d sure appreciate you giving them a few words of praise in the comment section.
