The way of Love ~ Part Twelve
For now, we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
1 Corinthians 13:12
Lord, when I think of the wonder of face to face contact with You, I can barely grasp the joy it will bring. What will it be like? I look forward with hope to the day when I know You fully. For now, may I reflect to others the wonder of Your name and may they come to know You just like I know you: intimately. Use me Lord. May I make a difference.
My little grandsons loved sitting in front of a mirror and looking at themselves. In the beginning, it was the other baby looking back at them in a distorted mirror made of plastic that hung in their cribs. Later, they sat on the floor in front of a large framed mirror in my living room. It didn’t take them long to figure out they were the other baby.
When we look at the mirror of our faith, we see God in His Word, face-to-book, but face-to-face will come later, where we will know Him fully. All of the spiritual gifts will no longer be needed in Heaven; we will embrace the Love of our lives, and He will fill our hearts with all knowledge.
I jokingly tell some of the women in my Bible Study that I can’t wait for “Heaven 101” where we will be able to watch creation, the flood, the tabernacle construction, Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection. However, the truth is most likely that we will just know, just like the Lord knows us so well.
I long for that day to meet Him face-to-face. To know every detail fully.
